I want to be sure I understand. The t-case that is loose does not look like it came in the truck from the factory, judging by the shoddy install. I am assuming that I could change the adapter plates and install the 350/ 350 engine and trans, except for the fact that the spline count is different (?), or does this change as well when the adapter is swapped? as for the fact that the t-case adapter in the 3/4 ton appears to have the same 4 bolt pattern as the 700r4 rear housing, can I do some parts swapping and install the overdrive trans? I have fooled with 71 and 72 trucks for years, but this is my 1st 4x4. Thanks for any input.
