Just saw your edit/questions- I haven't installed my tank, so I don't know how it will work yet, but my tank is a FCG custom, with the filler at the left rear, so I shouldn't have any problems there. I haven't done anything else to keep it closed, but I don't think that it would ever come "open". My main concern is keeping it closed tight so that it doesn't bounce. This could be easily fixed with either a tighter spring, or a magnetic cabinet door latch. If you have the trim, the only things that you will need are the LEDs and fuel filler hose. I used a metal elbow, but if you can find a piece of 1 & 1/2" rubber filler hose with a prebent 90 degree bend, it would make it easier.
