Hi Rick,

I always remove mine to lube them. They are not hard to remove if you use a tool like in the first picture to remove the small clips. The second picture shows where to insert the tool to push the clips off. Just get it in close to the post and work it around them. I use PB Blaster on the cables first to loosen them up then a light oil such as 3-in-1 oil to lube them. It makes a lot of difference after you get it done.
