I got an easier fix for you....get an '87 Silverado alternator....90 amps iirc. The you take the outer two wires on the four wire plug that went into the regulator and wire them together. Then you can install the alt with a one wire connection. You jump the hot wire to the second connection on the alternator and your done. I can't get pics right now and I hope I haven't left anything out, but the new alt fits perfectly on the stock arm and lets you run just about anything you want to add without a drain.
My lights used to dim sometimes....not any more!
