Re: Changing to Internal Voltage Regulated Altenator

This is a VERY simple switch that is WAY over thought.

1. At the old regulator plug #1 to #3 and #2 to #4. Count in either direction. It is all the same. Make the jumpers from common crimp on spade connectors.

2. Buy a new alt connector for an internal regulator from the "HELP" or the electrical section of you local parts store. The plug will be flat. Take small screw driver and pop the connectors out of the plastic plug. Now pop the old connectors out of the old square type plug, pop the old connectors into the new flat plug.

3. You will have an extra black wire at the alt. This is a ground wire and is not needed. Tape it back out of the way, or cut it off, or you can try to screw it to the new alt body.

4. If the new internal alt does not charge, the wires are reversed in the flat plug.

Cost: about $3. Time: 5 minutes
