Don't know if this will help, but sometimes dust will get inside and cause what may seem like a short. Give her a good cleanng with some type of "dry" spray, like you would use on a computer. Also, I have seen where old radios have a string that moves the indicator, it may have came off. Probably any electronics business could freshen her up. We have a place called Delta Electonics here that I believe can do it. I can call them tomorrow if you want me to.
