Good thing you are asking all this BEFORE buying the wheels. Keep in mind if you change the front end over to 5 lug disc setup you will also need to change over the rear end to keep them matching. More expense. You can buy aftermarket 5 lug axles and drums for the rear but that will add more cost to it. If you change to 5 lug disc front end you also need another master cylinder and prop valve. Sort of snowballing isn't it?
My suggestion is do LOTS of reading on this forum about suspension systems, brake upgrades, lowering kits and so forth so to get a good idea of just what you want it to look and drive like. There are plenty of threads of pics of these trucks sitting all kinds of ways from up to down with accompanying info on the specifics of their setup. Many of us choose to buy the suspension parts and rear ends from the 71 and up models to get the 5 lug setup then buy the lowering springs or spindles, etc to get the desired ride height.
