Re: 61 suburban/06 duramax on ebay
I figured I would post this up since when the auction is over we lose all the info.
I was starteled to see that this was only a few hours away from me!
here is his description:
1961 suburban which rest upon a 2006 3/4 ton 4x4 frame and suspension with a duramax and 6 speed allison, This has been a 2+ yrs in the making, This is an incredible rig and has required a great amount of craftsmanshipa and design to make it look the way it does, I am going to try and keep this description in a nutshell because it would take me days to write all their is to be said about this rig, Here is description of some of the key features, The 06 4x4 started as a 4dr short box, I took about 3 ft out of the frame ,z notched it ,welded it ,plated and bolted it, All the wirring harnesses and computers are still in their original configuration,.. In other words the dealer can plug it in and diagnos and work on this as they would any other 06 dmax!, This also means it still has cruise control, push button 4x4 , intermitent wiper delay, A/C, ABS, power seat and so on , Their are no engine or warning lights on except for the airbag light because their isnt any, The 06 donor truck had about 8500 miles on it and I have put about 3500 on it since completed , The total mileage on it is less than 12000, It has a 6 inch lift, fabtech and blisten shocks, air bags for leaveling your trailer with your other rod on it! The wheels are 20 x 12 welds, Tires 35x13,50x 20, Grill and rear bumper are excellent original condition, front bumper is new, Well everything is pretty much new!, Their are 4 red top optimas mounted underneth so it starts up with ease any time! Runs cool even on hot days,, Huge custom built aluminum tripple pass radiator, Dual electric fans, Rear fenders and original wheel base has been moved and lengthened by 4 inches, Alignment is spot on , Heat and air work great, Rides much better than any of the other lifted trucks I've ever owned! The bodywork is excellen and it is extremley straight!, This was built and intended to be daily driven and perhaps sunday shown, With that in mind their are a couple small chips and blems due to winter driving, The frame was sandblasted and coated with industrial coating, The paint is PPG concept wich is very expensive high end durable paint, I have aprox $40k just in parts and supplies alone!, Not including the thousands of hours it took to build
