There's actually 3 different widths,Tim. The dually pickup rearends are even wider than a 3/4 ton or 1 ton SRW trucks. If you put dually rims on a SRW rearend they will hit the wheel tubs. The cab and chassis rearends are actually closer to the width of the SRW axles, but are a little narrower. The dually pickup rearends are way wider than both. I found this out when I built my dually. I used a dually pickup rearend out of a '97 C3500, but I had to move the spring and shock perches. As you can see in the first pic below, the hub sticks out past the bed side on the dually pickup axle. If put a SRW rim on it, the tire would stick out the wheelwell. I almost didn't put the dual wheel flares on it and left it like the bottom two pics. It looked like a railroad truck with just the inner dually wheels on it!
