as the saying goes, gotta pay to play.. headers perform alot better on modified engine. cost is minimal compared to having to fab your own headers. stock manifolds will work on a stock engine but once you start adding to it you will need the headers to get full potential. btw those headers are inexpensive compared to my hookers for my SBC. they cost 700bucks for coated
