First of all,`67 Chevy & GMC grilles are the same,except Chevy has letters.`68 is the same except for the different letters.

Only Chevy fenders changed in`69.

All hoods changed to the same hood on Chevy/GMC in`69,except GMC has holes for letters.

All GMC grilles,67-72 can be interchanged on GMCs.

In`69 when the hood changed GMCs recieved a surround just like chevys did,but...it is three seperate pieces not part of the grille:2 fender brows fastened to the fenders and a top piece fastened to the grille.
This was necessary because when the hood got steeper in`69 it got shorter and the surround fills the gap.

So...if you use a 67/68 hood you can run any GMC grille w/o the surround.There`s the narrow trim that`68s came with if you want to use that.
You can use a 69/72 hood with any grille,but you`ll need the 69/72 surround pieces.
