I'd just give the guy the $500 he's asking for if they are new GM pieces. I am a parts manager at a Chevrolet dealer, and I just checked availability on these parts. The inner grille is no longer available from GM. The last published list price on it was $204.04. The outer grille is still available, and the list price on it is $829.00! Even if your local dealer gives you a pretty good discount, you still cant buy them for $500. Also, if you can look at them first, you are better off too. Any more, when I get these from GM, more often than not they arrive damaged. Sometimes it takes 3 or more tries to get one that isn't beat up. That happened when I ordered an outer grill for a 1972. I had to order several times because they kept coming in damaged. Finally they didn't have any more in stock to ship to me, and they were discontinued. That could realistically happen at any time with the 69-70 grille too.
