I actually raised my floor 1". I used some 1" tubing to brace underneath the floor. I wouldn't have needed to do that, but the PO cut the bed all to pieces and had welded some things in it, so it was easier to just cover it all up.

I measured it out and cut a section about 1/4" too big, then set it in the truck. I took my plamsa cutter and just whittled away at it until it dropped in, then I welded the seams up. It probably would suffice to just put a few welds around it and use some kind of sealent in between , but I welded the whole thing all the way around, except for a few places in the front to let water drain out.
