If you have a healthy engine a stall will "hit". My '82 Z28 brings the left front tire 2 foot off the ground at the track with a 4000 ACC converter. Feathering won't do that! It won't on the street because even my 28 X 12.50's can't totally hook it up unless I'm at the track. They do feel like they are slipping when you are not at WOT. If you flash it from a dead stop, it locks up hard. If it doesn't, something is wrong. If you are looking foir economy, the TH350 would be a much better choice. The low 1st gear of the 700R4 is great, but they kinda fall on their head when they go to 2nd. The TH350 is a way better racing transmission, and you can build a much better TH350 than you can a 700 for the same money.
