Those end nippers were mostly a farrier`s tool for nipping off and pulling shoe nails.Carpenters use them as nail cutters still.I guess they would have been used for cobbling also.

I love the old folk`s time capsules.My wife`s paternal grandfather was a salesman and didn`t use tools much.But back then,even a guy like that still fixed and tinkered some.He had tin cans full of buttons,screws,bits & pieces of this`n`that.It`s just neat to keep it all together.I`ve had his stuff for over 20 years,now that`s even been a long time.
