The simple answer is yes, you can install later model ball joints directly into your existing control arms to be able and use later model spindles and brakes. No mods required.

Like said above, be sure and grab the steering linkage from spindle to spindle too. It is different from the early model stuff.

After that, you just need a disc brake master cylinder and proportioning valve off a late model truck and hook up the lines.
