Mike, are you being sarcastic? If you aren't, a take-off tailgate is one that was only on the truck for a little time, sometimes even a day after the truck was bought. People would take them off to put camper shells and such on their trucks and these often sat inside these original owners houses or barns and have stayed there for 30 + years.
