New to this truck thing
Greetings from Charlotte, NC to all you die hard truck freaks! I purchased the first pick up of my life a year and a half ago. There has been only one truck that has ever struck me as the most beautiful truck ever to roll off an assembly line... that's a 1963 Chevy short bed stepside, and that's what I got! It has a 1970 250 straight six from a Chevy Nova. I rebuilt the Saginaw 3 speed and replaced or rebuilt everything under the hood except for the engine itself. No problems there. I swapped out the grill with a 1960 four headlight version. Chrome was way too expensive so I had it sandblasted and powder-coated silver. Floor pans, cab corners and door sill bottoms are waiting to be welded in. That's just the beginning. The styling ques on the 62-66 series has always reminded me of a 63-67 Sting Ray. My plan is to reshape the hood to look like a 67 427 and add some reverse louvers behind the front wheel wells. If that's not enough I'm designing a bed topper that will look like a 63 split window coupe! She's all primer gray at this point though. I'll start posting pix when things get under way. I;ll keep you posted, Boz.
