Yep, they changed in 79 to having gas filler doors. Another interesting note. At some point (I think 81) the single tank boxes moved the gas filler from the passenger side (73-80) to the driver's side (81-87). By piecing together two single tank boxes you could have a box with no filler door with no welding!!! (You might have to move some of the tailgate hinge and latch stuff though)
