Well, you should mount the pump close to the tank since they "push" the fuel as opposed to "pulling" it like a mechanical pump. Since you have a stick tank, anywhere under the cab would work since it'll be below the tank. Hence, gravity will keep the pump inlet supplied with gas. I've got mine wired to a slightly hidden toggle switch. Kind of a theft prevention measure (as long as they don't find the switch!)
