I think you did a good job.But,I prefer the factory looks over custom grilles.I`ve seen alot of chopped up GMC grilles over the years.I`m building a`67 GMC starting with a grille I picked up for a guy who wanted to undo what the previous owner had done,a tube grille.That guy sold the truck before I talked to him,so I kept it.I guess if the grille`s already messed up in the middle,that`s one thing.It`s a catch 22 with one that`s dented or just needs chrome because it costs more than a new one and you don`t want to toss it.But,I wouldn`t chop up a good grille with what a good one`s worth.
You could fix one up and paint it to blend with the body.
