So i might need to take off the tail shaft to inspect the gear. The hole isn't big enough to see the gear with a flashlight, is it?
I guess pulling the driveshaft would be a good time to inspect and replace the u-joints as needed. So, it's win win. As long as the bolts co-operate during removal.
