Re: ABS/Brake light

This problem is pretty common. It was one of the issues my 2003 Suburban had and my sister's 2000 model also had this problem. Turning the truck off will reset the problem but it will return in short order.

The possible fix is almost too simple to believe but hear me out. It has worked on several other suburbans/tahoes/silverados. Of course if this does not fix it you will want to take the truck to a mechanic to check the codes as it may be something more serious. Try this though first and it may save you some $$. Feel free to send some to me if it does work for you though.

The "possible" Fix:
Remove the engine cover.
Reach back on the right (passenger) side of the engine and locate a wire bolted to the top rear of the engine.
This is a ground wire and the connection becomes compromised over time by rust/grease/dirt/etc.
See if you can move the ground lug but be carefull not to break the wire.
If it can be moved just turning it slightly to reset the ground may be all you need to do. Check your dash lights now.
If this did not solve the problem you might want to unbolt that ground wire, clean the surfaces and reinstall. If this does not fix the problem you should consult a mechanic.

Seems too simple but this ground wire is in a critical system and causes several problems if it is not secure.

Good luck. Hope this helps
