I have a dishwasher too. I use mine. I find it handy for a final rinse after I get parts out of the solvent tank.
If I was Absolutely certain I could do it, I'd run solvent through the thing instead of water. It isn't that hard to recirculate using a 50 gallon drum. I'm afraid it'll eat the insides to pieces.
