If you add up everything you would need (parts, fab costs, etc) to gain the same ground clearance and performance that a Dropmember provides, you'll find that the price of a Dropmember is actually a bargain considering how nice of a piece of work it is. Guys that Z their frames always go through a point in the process where they wished that they hadn't tackled the job. It's alot more work than it appears, and everything that touches, hangs on, or bolts to the front end always winds up needing to be modified to make it all work.

I can't tell you how many times I went down a certain path to save money, only to wind up spending almost the same amount and gaining a ton of headaches in the process.
