Best bet is to run a desktop dyno program to figure out approximately where your peak torque is. That should be the basis of where your converter stall should be.

How much do you want to spend on a rear end? That will determine a lot. 3.73 is too high for drag racing IMHO. You should be looking at more like 4.10 to 4.57 depending on what tires your running. A lot of 8 lug truck axles with posis or lockers can be had for nearly nothing and can be converted to 5 or 6 lug for under $450 and your labor.
