Its a long shot, I agree. You just never know what happened to a truck over 40 years of use.
....I would think that if it happened on a panel you would see some bowing across the quarters or the interior panels. The frames have NO problem bending the other way when you take the bed off....my frame had to be redone cuz the bed tipped forward.
