The problem with those older aftermarket systems is....where are you gonna get parts for it?? It'd have to be free to nearly free for me to make the effort to try to get one of em going again.
There are several companies that sell new units that should do what you would like them to. Yeah, yeah! I know buying new isn't cheap...but neither is spending the summer nickel and dimeing an antique unit hoping that one day it's going to work efficiently.
