Re: Dealer installed aftermarket A/C What is it worth?
This is the roblem w/ al "WIW" threads. I say ALL of them depends on a few things 1. The type of truck you are trying to build (Resto vs work vs modified) 2. The part of the country you are in 3. Completeness of system. My dad (lives in S. Texas) restored his 71 GMC. It was a non AC truck. We are piecing together an aftermarket AC for it. I would have loved for someone to have given us an old aftermarket AC because it wasn't worth anything... We have about $200 in it, including a good York compressor. My brother had a similar set up in hos 72 Chevy SWB. It worked fine and put out COLD air. If tha is all you want, and don't want to be original or "high tech" with the new add on units, an original aftermarket is OK. YOu will need to find a compressor that is compatible with R-134, though...
