Thanx, it sure would make it alotr easier than shortening an original lwb bed, well not easire but less time for sure. glad to hear that yours is coming along nicely also.

I am very impressed on how well your welds are blended into the base metal, looks like it never happened. I tend to work a bit to fast to get that flawless finish but a few light coats of high build primmer and it was never their ether!

So what is the mix you are using now? 25/75% argon?

Kevin, i checked the bottle tonite, i get mine from air liquide and it is bluesheild 23, and from what i can tell (read) it is 25/75, but not 100% sure, i am gonn ph them on tues and find out, will let you know, all i know is that this is the nicest gas i have used, what a difference!!!!! And thanks for the compliments, you are right it will look better once there is some color on her, i try to tak time when welding, however that does not always happen either. I just have too much to do for other ppl and need to get my truck out of the way. Sound Familiar, i seem to know someone else like this also.

i agree i would like to just blind it off for now, but where i live, i basically need the defrost every nite for the windows. For now i will run this and then i hope this winter , the truck will come back apart for paint, powdercoating and the finishing touches, such as my a/c setup and a few things. just wait and see, i think you will be pleased with the results.

Thanks guys for the responses, it sure makes a person feel good doing something, nice to have a little feedback. Anyways , later
