I just had my frame sand blasted, epoxy primered, and painted satin black (similar to factory color). While you have your frame that far apart, why not tow it to the nearest sand blasting company and have them do the same to the rear of your chassis? You could also rent your own equipment and do it yourself or even wire wheel it and paint it with POR-15 or something similar. The place that blasted my truck did it all...very convienient if you ask me.
Another thing, use stainless steel hardware...it looks great and won't rust like plain bolts. I also used SS nylon lock nuts as opposed to lock washers...much cleaner looking. While you are at it, use some nice insulated clamps for the fuel line and built a bracket for your fuel filter (clean the engine bay up a little if that is where it is at now).
