I am running a bbc in my 66 with tall valve covers no clearanc problems you should have no problem.also you want the engine as far back as it will go to give a better weight distribution.if you move the engine to far foward it will handle like a dog also if you move the engine foward a simple cam change will turn into a engine pull. Now i will tell you clearance is a lil tight by the power brake booster and fan box but unless you are running a solid cam this should be no problem
