Hey guys, I'm a new member although I've been hanging with you for a few months. I've been dubbing around with old trucks for a long time....wish I had a few of them back...hind-sight and all that stuff.
Anyhow, I just brought home a '68 C20 SWB factory 3/4 ton rack body dually. 292 six, w/4spd, radio delete, speedo and fuel gauge. The rest are "idiot" lights. The truck has 26K original miles and no rust. It has what appears to be Chevy clearance lights (based on the photo's in an earlier post) although the glove box door sticker doesn't mention them.
I don't want to do any cutting on this truck, but I'd like a better array of gauges. Would it be sacrilege to modify a glove box door ( cut a clearance for the steering column, punch holes for the gauges and put in a set of after-market gauges?)That way, if I wanted to go back to bone stock I wouldn't have hurt anything
