I am halfway converting my 2wd truck to a 4wd, I got the front done using DIY4X front brackets, but I kept searching and found a short wheelbase 4wd rolling chassis on craigslist locally, they are out there believe it or not. But I still plan on finishing the frame I started with as soon as I get the bucks to finish it up. You can do the front easily with the diy4x brackets, and the back is really not that big a deal either if you can find a 2wd GMC with leafs(has to be a 2wd because of the difference in widths in the rear where the coils used to mount).
