Holy crap, you guys are right, it's not bolted in. How do you fix that without getting another tailgate? Maybe you can find some round metal tubing, like exhaust tubing, and weld it in? Or make a metal cap or find one and bolt it in through the center of the cap and into the tailgate? The bolt can stick out a little from the cap since the trunion is hollow inside.
