I did this a couple months ago and it was fairly easy to do. It did take some fine tuning of the back metal part of the dash to clean everything up. It looks great now and very factory.
I did mine on a '68 Chevy truck, where you have the turn signal arrows. I used plastic cleaner, 2000 grit sandpaper and small bit of water to remove the turn signal arrows.
I don't have the turn signal arrows, but I just try to remember if I turned the turnsignal on/off.
I would highly recommend this. They sell the tachs on e-bay for $10-$40.
