Yes they have the proper radius to weld to the axle tube. I installed the pads in the caliper and took my air hose and put air to the caliper and compressed everything tight on the rotor. I used a magnetic angle finder to keep them on 90 and welded the brackets. I takes two sets of hands to get it tacked. One person to hold the air on the caliper and keep it at a 90 and the other to weld unless you could come up with a fitting to put air on it without holding it. And by the way you wont have a parking brake but its no big deal to me.

Brilliant. I wonder how I went so long and never heard of this? Anyway, I'm sure there's a way you can add a parking brake - maybe find a setup in the junkyard with rear disc brakes, and adapt that.
