If it is the trans cable for a 700R4 then it is not just a kick-down cable, it is THE cable that controls the whole transmission and how and when it shifts. Not having it hooked up or adjusted right will seriously shorten the life of the transmission!!

If you don't know which transmission it is, go under the truck and loock at the oil pan on the transmission. The 350 trans. has a square oil pan with a corner angled off, while the 700R4 has a funky shaped pan. If its been working for a while you probably got a 350, but you better double check and look at the pan.
