Hottrucks thanks for the info. 1st I step notched a 56 to lay out. I wasn't planning to drive it fully aired up but it would be nice to be able to take it to full travel, for repair /inspection/ cleaning. I built my own trailing arms and plan to mount the shocks off the rear of the arms to the step notch. I need to fab my own brackets. I'm just concerned about hitting something and breaking off a shock mount being so low, and trying to keep as much bed depth as I can. I guess I really don't have a choice. I did find a monroe shock #37186 that is 14" comp with 10 1/4" travel. If this helps anyone else out.
