'68 KS truck plate here. One time fee of $40 to reissue the title as "specialty antique" and you can run embossed YOM plates. No restrictions and no annual renewal  
We also have the vanilla antique plates. 1976 was the last year for embossed plates in KS (we got renewal stickers in '77), so I'm not sure what happens when the 1977 models get to be 35 years old.
