Since you have air, you can pick up an inexpensive (Home Depot, Lowes) die grinder and a carbide burr that will get you into those hard to reach areas. Looks like someone tried to fix that area before. The '65-'79 12 bolts were all 30 spline axles, but the '71-'79 ones were 5 lug and 1.5" wider. The posi units from either will fit, but you also need to make sure the one you get is correct for the gears you want to run. A carrier with 3.08 or 3.42 gears won't work with 3.73 or 4.11 gears and vice versa.
