When I ran mine in a 72 long bed 4x4 I did a lot of u-joint research (sorry lost the web-site) and found that u-joints 'should not' be pointed directly at each other , some degree of offset is needed.

Both angles 'must' be the same as well, other-wise you'll have vibration.

I ended up with a pretty short rear shaft even in the long bed, good luck stuffing it under your blazer.

I've still got some pics of the install if they might help ya out.
