The smaller the Muffler HOUSING (Height & Width) the greater the exhaust sound. The larger HOUSINGS emit quieter exhaust notes.
They are tons of reviews, comparisons, sound clips, and youtube videos on mufflers. Personaly I like the sound of Magnaflows. I have 2 Chamber Flowmasters on my truck now. http://soundboard.com/sb/1Bad62ProStreet.aspx
