The idea with the drill bit sounds pretty good but like me, I donīt like to drill any holes anywhere unless I have to.
I marked mine with a fine tipped permanent marker and lined them back up when I put the hood back on.
I would take the hood off. If I remember right, it would have been in the way when I yanked my engine. I had the whole front end off anyways. That made it alot easier.
