All personal preference. Also depends on what your final intentions with the truck will be. And that's where the decision for 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive is made,,,for us anyway.
I personally wouldn't bother with a conversion, and just look for and purchase which ever style you decide. Much less headache in the end.
Our personal preference is 4x4. Have to have something to get around the snow in, as well as tinker around up in the mountains. Arizona is full of cool trails and old abandoned mining towns. Most of which you won't be accessing in a 2 wheel drive
We have muscle cars when cruising on the blacktop is desired
