I'd recommend an MSD with a box and coil.

The MSD distributor has magnetic pick-ups; no points to float, and last practically forever.

The 6AL box has a variable rev limiter (change with replaceable plugs). The 6A box has no rev limiter. That will help keep your baby within it's useable RPM band, and prevent over-revving. The box, in conjunction with MSD coil will also give you a good hot spark all the way up to 6500.

MSD is not nearly as delicate as Mallory systems or HEI, and are available everywhere. Many shops will often have sales where you can the entire set up for under $250.
