No the factory didn't fill the seam. I once read a real long thread on this board about filling the seam or not and a surprising number of people said it wasn't worth the trouble because anyone looking at the truck can barely see it anyway. I would say fill it if you're gonna make a custom along with smoothing the side lights, gas filler, cowl, etc. If it's just a daily driver you want, forget it.
