You know, I'm not too sure. It has a standard VIN plate same as all the others, and, of all things, I found the remains of the 'Protecto-Plate' and all the numbers are the same (WOOHOO-matching numbers!
) The glovebox door had been left open and open to the elements for at least long enough to completely fade out the SPID. The only obvious option is shoulder belts, I guess that was a military standard at the time.
All I know is that my father-in-law got it from his cousin's ex-hubby. I remember their kids driving it around quite a few years ago. The ex hubby has always worked at a huge army/navy surplus yard in Ogden, Utah, so I'm sure that's where it came from. What I don't know is if there was any bad blood in the divorce that might have something to do with the no title thing. someday I'll get down the the DMV and find out what's up with that.
