Yes it is worth a thousand[ in my mind] You say they noticed a knock when they worked on the dist? was it knocking before or just after? be sure the oil pump driveshaft is engauged if so, check the timing to see if it is close [ make sure there is no labor knock] That could cause some noise if it is way off.
