I understand that the 5.3 is all you can afford, but the swap will cost a good bit more than you're paying for the engine. Those swaps ain't cheap, I looked very hard into dropping a 6.2 into my '81 Corvette, by the time I got everything I needed it was a lot cheaper to build a strong 406 AND add a lot of bling.
Plus, that dually is a heavy pig, you need torque to move it. That's why the suggestions for a big block. You can build one that'll pass emissions, too. Cores around here are less than LS cores, too.
